Nonresident Scholarships

Students who are not Missouri residents may receive awards that reduce tuition and fees to resident amounts. We also offer special rates for Kansas and some states in the Midwest.

Automatic Scholarships for Fall 2023

  • Students will be matched with the highest possible automatic award and based on the information you submit when you complete the UMKC application for admission. 
  • Students who are eligible for both awards will receive the Chancellor's Historically Underrepresented Minority Nonresident award.

Newly enrolled nonresident undergraduate students that apply by January 15th (limited number available)
High school core GPA of 3.0 or above OR Transfer GPA of 3.0 or above

Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry and Law students are not eligible.

Chancellor's Historically Underrepresented Minority Nonresident Award Nonresident tuition differential Undergraduate and graduate degree-seeking students who identify themselves on the UMKC admission application as African-American, Hispanic or Native American

Competitive Scholarships

  • Competitive scholarships are awarded based on criteria of each scholarship.
  • Funding may be limited for certain competitive scholarships, and some awards require additional application materials. 
  • Deadlines may vary.
  • Students may apply by contacting their academic department for approval.
