Interested in Summer Financial Aid?
The Financial Aid and Scholarships office will automatically review all students for federal financial aid once you have enrolled for the summer semester. To be considered for summer awarding, please make sure you’ve completed the following steps:

- Enroll at Least Half-Time in the Summer 2024 term
Registration for Summer 2024 opened on January 10, 2024. If you need assistance enrolling for summer, check out the Registering for Classes page from the Office of Registration and Records.
Undergraduate students need to be enrolled in 6 credit hours to be reviewed for federal aid eligibility. Graduate students need to be enrolled in 5 credit hours to be reviewed for federal aid eligibility. Undergraduate students who are Pell eligible, will be reviewed if enrolled in less than 6 hours. Professional Medicine, Pharmacy, and Dental students will be reviewed once enrolled by their academic unit.

- Confirm you have a 2023-2024 FAFSA on file
If you aren’t sure that our office has your 2023-2024 FAFSA, visit Pathway to confirm. Once logged in, click on the Notifications tile. Under Completed Items, you should see 2023-2024 FAFSA listed. If you do not see 2023-2024 FAFSA listed, we have not received your FAFSA and will not be able to consider you for federal financial aid until a FAFSA is received.
- Make sure you don’t have any outstanding financial aid items
After confirming we have your 2023-2024 FAFSA, review your Outstanding Items to confirm the Financial Aid Office is not requesting any additional information.
Once these 3 steps are complete, our office will review your eligibility for summer federal financial aid and contact you via your UMKC email address with more information.
Just a Reminder: Scholarship awarding is completed on a different timeline based on when award information is received. Scholarships will be added to your summer award offer as quickly as possible but may not be reflected in our initial offer of federal aid.
