Qualifications

  • Missouri resident
  • First time freshman OR transfer student with earned Associate’s Degree
  • Pell Grant eligible
  • Undergraduate students working on first Bachelor’s Degree
  • Full time enrollment (12+ UMKC credits per semester)
  • Not available for medicine, pharmacy, conservatory, athletes

Max Amount

The UMKC Advantage Grant guarantees that tuition (not fees) is covered by gift aid such as grants, scholarships, and other private or government gift aid.  The amount of the UMKC Advantage Grant varies depending on the amount of other gift aid and the number of credits a student enrolls in fall and spring semesters.

How to Apply

  • File a FAFSA by April 1
  • The UMKC Advantage Grant is automatically offered; no separate application is required

Option to Renew

  • File a FAFSA by April 1
  • Full time enrollment (12+  UMKC credits per semester)
  • Complete and earn 24 credits per academic year
  • 2.5 cumulative UMKC GPA
