Qualifications

  • Transfer students from any community college or four-year institution
  • Must have completed 40 transferable credit hours before attending UMKC
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA in all college work attempted
  • Must be working on first bachelor’s degree
  • Not available for medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, law or conservatory
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Max Amount

$2,000 plus nonresident tuition differential, if applicable

No application; awarded automatically based on admission information

Apply for admission by November 15 for following spring semester

Apply for admission by February 15 for following fall semester

Option to Renew

  • 2.75 cumulative UMKC GPA
  • Full time enrollment (12+ UMKC credits per semester)
  • Complete and earn 24 UMKC credits per year

Chancellor’s Historically Underrepresented Minority Nonresident Award

Qualifications

  • Newly enrolled non-Missouri resident students who identify themselves on the UMKC admission application as African American, Hispanic or Native American
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Undergraduate Students:

  • Maintain a 2.0 cumulative UMKC GPA
  • Complete and Earn 24 UMKC credit hours each year

  • Maintain a 3.0 cumulative UMKC GPA
  • Complete and Earn 18 UMKC credit hours each year
